Porsche 964
This one’s for me. And after me, the girls. For at least as long as you can buy gasoline easily.
The 964 was near the end of the air-cooled 911 lineage. And it was the last of the “old” body styles, before the panels changed. My 964 is a brand-new old car. Every part came off. Body stripped down to bare metal. Every piece going back on was either new, rebuilt, or improved. She went from a tired wheezing engine far away from making its original 247 hp to a new race mill that did 396 on the dyno. She’s 300 pounds lighter, goes faster, stops better, and looks exactly right.
