Skateboards
I grew up skating in the 1960s. That’s me up front in 1968 with buck teeth and skinned knees. The board were sturdy, but the trucks and wheels were atrocious.
I got the idea to build some boards from scratch as holiday gifts. That meant starting by building a mold, and vacuum bagging maple veneer with a bunch of glue to make plywood. Then each board was routed to shape, laser etched with a unique design and name and finished with many coats of varnish.
